Fly is a
great simulator! When patched to the final version, you
will have the whole world covered. A lot of 3rd party add-ons
can greatly enhance the system: 3D models for airports,
aircraft, Sky! and GroundControl are just a few examples.
Check out the AVSIM file libraries Finnair B757 approaching runway 27R at EHOS (Oss International Airport). Great when you can make up your own world! :-) |
Fly is
great, but with the Fly Editor you can push it to the
limit. Adding 3D scenery, adding more real-life ground
scenery, creating taxiways, adding nav/ils facilities,
waypoints or obstructions, you can change things the way
you want. You missed that tiny little airstrip near your
house which exists in real life but wasn't available in
Fly? Start creating it yourself. For information, read Marty Schultz' howto on the editor, or Eric Rosenbrock's one on the Taxiway Editor. Both are available at the AVSIM file libraries. I wrote another howto on the Database Editor, see the link below. Here's part of my EHOS airport. Using existing 3D models and the Database Editor for creation of the aiport, runways, navaids and comms. The taxiways and tarmac were created in the Taxiway Editor. |
